HISTORY OF TRINITY COLLEGE

Trinity College is an integral part of the ‘big’ picture when Trinity Montessori School was being conceived and established in 2006 at Midombo, in Akpakpa, a suburb of Cotonou. The College started in 2008 in the same site as the Primary with only a handful of students in the Junior Secondary, but the vision and determination of the Founder, coupled with the unique blend of English and French curricula being taught at the same study duration propelled it to greater heights and before the end of 2009, the College moved from Midombo to Segbeya and started the Senior Secondary (SSS 1).

In 2012, the College growth propelled the Management to move the Senior School to Kpondehou where the 1st set of SSS 3 students were groomed and presented for the WAEC examination in 2014. It was not an easy task because the students had to be taken across the border and housed in a Hostel for a month in order to write the examination. There were challenges with these arrangements but we scaled through all the hurdles.

The success of the 1st set of students in 2014 gave birth to Porto-Novo College with just 8 students, then in 2016 Godomey College started with 10 students. Calavi College started in 2020 with 12 students. The hard work of our teachers and students paved way for the College to be granted accreditation as a WAEC Center in Benin Republic in January 2018. The Management ensured that competent Staff were recruited to teach in the Arts & Science Departments in both languages and massive infra-structural developments and equipment of our  Science Laboratories took place consistently over the years in preparing the Students for the WAEC, NECO, BECE as well as the BEPC and BAC examinations. The College over the years recorded a landmark achievement obtaining 100℅ successes in all the examinations.

The College has become the pride of the city, engaging in a wide array of extracurricular activities which includes quiz competitions, oratory and other skill acquisition, swimming, excursions, practical life exercises, sports, career workshops and various club activities all in a bid to build a ‘Total Man’ ready to confront and conquer the challenges after College education.
